The picture received wide attention after interest in it was created by some. Now it is being circulated again, with a communist flag doctored in next to Kerry’s head.

Posted by BuSh.HaTeR on Mar 22, 2004 at 1:14 PM With all due respect to the high-minded sentiments of the author, the answer for the democrats is not just responding to mendacious attacks, but rather launching their own offense. Stay off the ropes. For an ignorant and easily bored electorate such as ours there is an advantage that accrues to accusers. Once an accusation is made, the witless citizen demands an “answer.” That is why attack ads work. If the democrats were to tomorrow accuse Bush of child molestation, it would take a week’s work and a million dollars to counter the charge no matter how baseless it is. The moral of the story is that dumping garbage on your opponent pays because even if you can eventually disprove it, you will be tied down by responding to intentionally false accusations. The democrats need to reply in kind. They need to back up a garbage truck of their own and empty the whole load on the Bush/Cheney regime, forcing them to expend time and money in cleaning off the slime that they so liberally apply to their opponents.Let’s not be high minded naifs. Pour garbage on Bush and make him respond! A taste of his own medicine.

Posted by brad on Mar 27, 2004 at 9:18 PM stephan is right-on about how the democrats need to wage this campaign. they should always attack, never defend, ignore whatever negatives the “deserter-drafter dodger 04” camp sends out. this should be easy since all the democrats have to do is TELL THE TRUTH about this regime. their own words and actions are negative enough. just keep putting them out there in response. in the mean time keryy stays positive with a vision for a future that includes everyone, not just the rich and powerful fellow travelers. the truth shall set us free. use it.
